Travel Agents, Turkey, and the Art of Momentum
Thanksgiving is funny. We spend all week planning one meal with military precision, but when it comes to planning holiday travel, clients still email us 3 weeks before Christmas for "options" over New Years. Bless them.
But here’s why I adore this season: right when the pie settles, momentum picks up. Wave Season starts breathing down our necks. Clients wander out of the tryptophan fog, look around their overcrowded living rooms, and suddenly decide that next year they’re going somewhere with fewer dishes and more palm trees. In fact, many families start dreaming up their group trips right after the turkey, while football plays in the background and someone mutters, “We should just all go somewhere warm next year.” I currently have two Granny's in destination not doing a bit of food prep, cleaning or dishes. Those trips started between Thanksgiving and Christmas last year.
So this is your cue.
Thanksgiving is one of the easiest, most natural times of the year to reach out to clients — not to sell, but to stay top of mind. A simple, warm note checking in, wishing them a restful holiday, and reminding them you’re there when they’re ready to plan can be the nudge that leads to a spring break booking… or a multi-generational cruise they’ll talk about for a decade.
Because momentum matters — and this is the moment to build it.
And speaking of momentum, HTTA is rolling into the end of the year with more tools than ever to help you show up strong:
Between now and January 1, you’ll see:
New kits & mini courses: Alacrity, Intent, Europe, Wave Season Prep, and How to Have an Assistant — all fast wins for busy agents.
Wave Season Prep Kit releasing December 3 (your sanity will thank you).
A refreshed tier structure to make your membership actually support your business, not haunt your inbox.
Spring Cohort kicks off February 9 with a brand-new Groups Challenge
The Companion Pass, perfect for returning students or seasoned agents who want accountability without taking the full cohort again.
Thanksgiving is the season that quietly teaches us the power of consistency. Show up for your people, show up for your business, and show up for yourself — even if everyone else is napping on the couch.
The truth is, your clients are already dreaming.
Football is on. The dishes are piled high. Aunt Linda is talking politics again. Someone pulls up a beach photo on their phone and says, “We should go there next year.”
When they decide they’re serious, make sure you’re the name they remember.
And at HTTA, we’re making sure you head into 2026 with everything you need to be unforgettable.
